What Russian Women Like in Men

Please don’t believe the myth that all Russian men are alcoholics, because it is very far from truth. And don’t think that Russian women will fall for anyone who is not a drunkard, or that they would do anything to get out of the country. Russian women have their standards when it comes to choosing men and the fact that they often give preferences to Western men, only means that westerners often suit their needs better.

No doubt, every woman is different and has her own standards when choosing a spouse, but still, there are certain values that most Russian women prefer to see in men.

One of the reasons why Russian women chose American men is that many American men love children. Family is very important to Russian women. Usually, much more important than career, so if you love kids, make sure you write it down in one of your first letters to her; or if you have a profile online, include it there as well.

Russian women who are married to Americans ( including me) appreciate the fact that American guys don’t expect a woman to do laundry and iron their clothing every day, clean the house, cook from scratch, take care of kids, be a great sexual partner, have a full-time job and look gorgeous all at the same time. Many Russian women in fact will try to be all of these things for their men, but they don’t want you to take it for granted. Many Russian men do take it for granted and they feel that it is women’s job to all that. American men don’t have this attitude.

Also, most of the American men who married Russian women (in my knowledge) were family-oriented. Not only they love and want to have children, but they like to spend time with their wives. It is common for a Russian husband to go out for beer with friends quite frequently, or to leave for a weekend to go, for example, fishing. There is nothing wrong with spending some time apart from each other, but the difference is in how often somebody does it.

My husband goes out with his friends sometimes and I don’t have a problem with it, but I am also allowed to go out with my girlfriends for dinner or a movie while he is watching our kids. I think that is fair and I appreciate it a lot. If I had a Russian husband, it wouldn’t be an option. Many Russian husbands would consider it “unmanly” and unnatural to stay home with kids when wife is shopping or having a good time with girlfriends.

Of course there are other things Russian women like in men, but these, in my humble opinion, are the things that American guys do better that Russian.
