Things You Absolutely Need to Know before Taking a Russian Woman out on a Date. Part 1

russianladiesYou’ve been corresponding with a Russian woman for awhile and decided it was time to finally meet her. Whether you met her online, through your friends, or in Red Square, and irregardless of where your first date is going to be, there are things that you need to know before going out. Otherwise your first date might turn out to be a nightmare, and it might become your last.

First of all, before taking a Russian woman on a date, make sure you are dressed up well. Russian women take good care of themselves and they care about appearances. It doesn’t mean that they want you to look like a Hollywood actor; they are usually not very picky when it comes to your height, or the size of your nose. But you need to be dressed up. No jeans for the first date and absolutely no sweatshirts or tee-shirts. A business suit and a tie wouldn’t be a bad idea, but if you don’t own one or are too stubborn to wear it, wear a button-down shirt and pants. If it is cold, wear a sweater, but make sure it is a nice one. Don’t wear the one with Mickey Mouse, which you got at Disney World 15 Summers ago. She will not think it is cute, or funny. She would most likely think you are strange. Stay away from sneakers. Shoes are important. Wear nice classy black or brown shoes. Make sure they are clean too. Remember, she will be dressed up and will try to look her best. I suggest you do the same.

A few posts ago I wrote a true story on how a date and a possible relationship was ruined because of a sweatshirt. You can read about it here.

Secondly, act like a gentleman. When you are taking a Russian woman out or just spending time with her, forget about feminism. I understand that it might be hard, but you need to relearn certain things if you want a relationship with a Russian woman. Remember, Russian women don’t like to be “the same as men”. They like to feel feminine and to act feminine. They actually like to be the “weaker” gender.

Buy her flowers. Red roses are always a winner, unless she specifically told you she doesn’t like them. Remember to always open and hold the door for her. “Ladies first” rule still applies in Russia and in most Eastern European countries. If you fail to do these things she may perceive you as an uncultured and inattentive jerk.
